This home is believed to be haunted by Imogene Remus, wife of the notorious bootlegger, George Remus who both once owned the residence. George went to prison in the mid-1920s and Imogene sold all the furnishing in their home and many of his distilleries, pretty much closing his businesses, and filed for divorce. In October, 1927, the two were on their way to divorce court when George had his driver follow her taxi cab. A high-speed chase took place and her taxi was forced off the road and Imogene ran from the car. As their daughter watched, George shot his wife as she tried to run away. George threw the gun near a gazebo in Eden Park and it was found the next Spring by a child in search of his Easter eggs. Imogene's spirit has been seen wearing a long black dress at dusk, usually in October. Some have also reported hearing her quietly crying.
